As you’re getting ready for your graduation, you probably have a few things on your mind, from the outfit under your gown to the going-away parties with all of your friends. And while your to-do list might be getting pretty long, there’s still one thing that might be missing: the graduation announcements! In this digital age, it might seem an arduous task best left ignored, but trust me, they’re still pretty darn important! As a Scottsdale senior photographer, I constantly chat with students from Chaparral High School about whether or not they actually need to send out announcements. Here are a few things I think you should consider before you make up your mind.
You already know this, but your Chaparral High School graduation is a really big deal! You have poured your blood, sweat, and literal tears into your schoolwork, and now, this chapter of your life is coming to a close. Your graduation announcement lets you tell the world and invite others to celebrate with you. After all, there’s a good chance a lot of people helped you along on the journey, and this gives you a way to say thank you and share the feeling of pride. And if you are having a graduation party, the announcement can double as an invite so that others can come along, maybe bring a gift or two, and help you get ready for the future!
While a simple social media announcement might seem like it does the trick, the fact is that your post is going to get lost over time. I always recommend choosing a physical announcement instead, so you have a way to preserve it and look back on it in the future. There’s a chance the Chaparral High School graduation announcement you send out today will become a treasured family keepsake you’ll show to your children down the line. I also find that relatives like grandparents, parents, and aunts and uncles love to keep it around on the fridge or the mantle. Plus, you can exchange them with your classmates or mentors as an easy way to keep in touch.
Last but certainly not least, this is the perfect way to show off those gorgeous Chaparral High School senior pics! I love working with students to personalize their sessions specifically so they have a few portraits to choose from for their announcements. As we’re planning, we might discuss details like your school colors, your extracurricular activities, or the college where you’re going once fall comes along. With these pictures, you’ll have a way to tell the story of the past few years or give the recipients an idea of what your future will look like. You’ll get a chance to celebrate and look really, really good doing so.
If you have been wondering whether or not sending a graduation announcement is actually important, I really hope this post helps you out! And if you do still need to book some Chaparral High School senior pics to grace these announcements, I would love to chat! As a Scottsdale senior photographer, I love working with students to plan sessions that let them show off this accomplishment as well as their unique personalities!
