When you are planning your senior session, you need a way to bring out your personality. After all, you are the one who has put in all the work over the years! This is your time to tell your story and celebrate all of your achievements. If you don’t want a copy-and-paste approach to your session, I don’t blame you one bit! As a Scottsdale senior photographer, I adore working with my clients to help them find ways to personalize their sessions. Here’s how you can elevate your Desert Mountain High School portraits!
The very first thing to consider is your location. While I love doing studio sessions, a lot of my Desert Mountain High School senior clients choose to use places that were personal for them throughout the years. This could include the sports fields where they practiced for hours each week, the city where they spent their weekends, or even the coffee shops where they caffeinated between study sessions. You can also choose parks or fields if you’d prefer a bit more nature.
Not only do props personalize your session, but they also give you a way to pose that feels more natural. So, what should you use for a prop? Think about all your hobbies and Desert Mountain High School activities! This could be a musical instrument, sports equipment, a coffee cup, your favorite books, or a skateboard. Balloons or biodegradable confetti are always a great way to make your pictures more festive. And of course, your cap and gown is the perfect touch!
Do you have a beloved pet that has helped you keep your sanity throughout all these years? Then bring them along! Our pets are such special creatures, and they deserve to be celebrated! If you do decide to bring along your four-legged friend, just remember to pick pet-friendly locations. It’s also a good idea to have someone on standby to take your pet back home so they can get a break from all that adorable posing.
Your best friends are a huge part of the Desert Mountain High School experience. Why not celebrate them? I love including your friends in your sessions for so many reasons. Not only do they tell your story, but there’s a good chance they’ll help you feel way more comfortable throughout your session. Those laughs are going to be more natural, and you will feel far less awkward, which will come across in the finished images. It’s also the perfect send-off before you all head away to college!
Your car has probably become pretty important to you since you first got those keys. Whether you want to get behind the wheel or pose in front of it, it makes for a pretty iconic prop. I would just encourage you to take it through the car wash and maybe get it detailed ahead of your session. Let it shine like the star that it is!
I really hope this list helps you as you start to plan your Desert Mountain High School session! If you still need the right photographer to help you celebrate this season, just let me know. As a Scottsdale senior photographer, I love working with students to provide them with sessions celebrating this huge achievement. Send me a message today so you can decide if I am one for you!
