You have spent a long time growing your brand. You have crafted your vision, found your ideal clientele, and figured out how to create something truly unique. Now, it’s time to make things official with a personal branding session! If you could use a little guidance for getting ready for your pics, I would love to help you out! As a Scottsdale branding photographer, I love working with my clients to help them plan their portraits. Here is my list on how to prepare for your personal branding session.

The first thing you need to do is figure out how you will be using your personal branding session pics. Will they be on your website? Will you use them for your social media? A little of column A, column B? Once you know how you want to use them, you can start creating a list of shots you want to have. From there, we can work together to make sure we have those must-have images. It doesn’t hurt to check other brands you love to ensure you’re not missing anything!
Your clothing is the best way to incorporate your personal style into your personal branding session while also adding colors. If you have a specific palette for your brand, work those shades in with your choices. And don’t be afraid to dress the part! If your brand is all about wellness, for example, you can totally bring along your best athleisure. Think about what you’d wear to meet your ideal clients, and wear it. I would also suggest going with well-fitted clothing that will boost your confidence!

Locations can be another good way to show your brand in motion. You can pick spots where you do most of your work, such as gyms, home offices, or coffee shops. Don’t have a picture-perfect spot? Then you can always rent one through AirBnB or VRBO. They even have studio spaces you can reserve by the hour for just this reason.
Nearly every personal branding session is met with the age-old question: What the heck should I do with my hands? The answer is props! Choose things you use for your day-to-day. This could include a planner, a whisk, a book, your laptop, coffee, and even your phone. It all works!

The last thing you want to stress about the morning of your personal branding session is the fact that your hair just doesn’t want to cooperate. Book services in advance so you can sit back, relax, and let someone else handle the contour. Remember, these artists work on photo sessions all the time. They know how to craft a style that looks as good on the camera as it does in real life.
Last but not least, just relax and have fun! Yes, this is easier said than done, but the right photographer is going to really make the difference here. They know what they’re doing, and they can make sure you have portraits that totally elevate your brand. Trust their vision and just use this time to celebrate the work you’ve done. Believe me, that confidence is going to show up in the finished results!

If you need some help getting ready for your personal branding session, I really hope this post helps you out! And if you still need a photographer, just let me know.
