Old Town Scottsdale tends to be a picturesque space no matter your style. With a thriving downtown and gorgeous buildings, it can be hard to narrow down backdrops for your family photo session. If you are trying to figure out where the heck you want to spend your session, I am here to help you out! As a Scottsdale family photographer, I adore working with parents to help them find the best spaces. Here are the Old Town Scottsdale photo spots I always recommend!
Fifth Avenue is a lovely Old Town Scottsdale strip for photos that features boutiques, art galleries, and restaurants. While the smaller shops work well for branding sessions, the exterior is ideal for family photos. With the towering palm trees, terracotta roofs, and the ever iconic horse fountain, you are going to have a ton of spots to pose with your crew!

If you want to stay in Old Town but prefer to get a little bit of nature, Scottsdale Civic Center Park is your spot. This area brings you perfectly green lawns, manicured gardens, and carefully spaced trees throughout. The walkways make it easy for younger kids to navigate, and the LOVE installation is always a great backdrop for family pics!

I always love incorporating the Historic Old Town Scottsdale District into my photo sessions! This area is the ideal combination of fun and kitschy, with legendary buildings that will take you back to the Wild West. Plus, the town is very pedestrian-friendly, making it a good option while working with younger kids. With their Americana decorations, their original saloons, and their cowboy statue, this is a fabulous spot to catch the authentic Arizona spirit.

Bischoff’s Gallery is a beloved Old Town Scottsdale shop that specializes in Native American art and jewelry perfect for family photos. While the inside is definitely worth the visit, I love working the exterior into my sessions. The white walls are covered in a thick layer of lush ivy with crown molding popping out between the leaves. The orange accents, iron bars, and white brick give you a neutral yet wonderfully textured backdrop with plenty of room to fit your entire crew!

Old Town Tavern is a fantastic eatery that gives you some of the best views of the city below. They offer a rooftop you can incorporate into your session. This area features a low-profile glass fence around the perimeter to ensure younger kids can stay safe throughout your time here. The area is a sleek and modern way to celebrate this city, and their food is the perfect treat once your session is over!
