When you have younger kids, you are constantly searching for the next great adventure! After all, these years fly by in just a blink. You need to find ways to engage their endless energy while creating moments they can cherish for years to come. If you could use a little help, I have you covered! As a Scottsdale family photographer, I love working with parents to make every season feel a little extra picture-perfect. Here are some of my top recommendations for things to do in Scottsdale with kids!

Scottsdale, Arizona
You would be hard-pressed to run out of things to do with kids in Old Town Scottsdale! This neighborhood takes the classic old west feel you’ve come to love from Arizona and brings it into the modern age. While you’ll catch glimpses of the history in the streets and on the store shelves, you can also find a totally new experience. From bowling and live music to some of the best eateries, there are just so many ways to enjoy this part of town!
7301 E Indian Bend Rd, Scottsdale, Arizona 85250
If you have a train lover in your Scottsdale family, you need to plan a trip with the kids to the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, stat! Operated by the Parks and Rec department, this unique space is located on over 30 acres. You can hop on a real-life train and take it for a spin before trying out the antique 1950s merry-go-round. There are also several shops and museums on site to explore while you’re here!

9500 E Via De Ventura, Suite A-100, Scottsdale, Arizona 85256
If you want to take a peek at all the critters under the sea, plan a visit to OdySea Aquarium. Not only do they have some of the most unique animals around, but they also have some of the best ways to experience them. You can swing by and hang out with some penguins or pet a stingray in between meeting hundreds of other creatures.

If your Scottsdale kid is a little more into insects, they are going to adore Butterfly Wonderland! This greenhouse recreates a tropical habitat so you can head inside and meet some colorful creatures. Walk quietly through the plants and wait as the butterflies come over to investigate their newest bestie. The center also has a theater where you can have a 3D experience and learn more about all the bugs who call this place their home!

27026 N. 156th St, Scottsdale, Arizona 85262
For those who prefer to get a little wilder, Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center might just be the best destination of all. This place is dedicated to saving some of the most incredible animals on Earth. During your time here, you can meet some ferocious animals while learning all about what you can do to keep them safe. It’s as fun as it is educational!
